Tom Dempsey's GCG Mentors Camp

This camp offers a unique opportunity for the elite goaltender. It is open to 12 individuals with only 6 on the ice during each session.  This highly specialized goaltending camp is available to Professional, Major Junior, and University Goaltenders.  Goalies will receive 1.5 hours of on-ice instruction twice daily with a 3 to 1 goalie/instructor ratio. Goalies may choose among ice sessions only; ice sessions with lunch included; and ice sessions with accommodation and meals included.

Tom Dempsey is the Goalie Coach of the Ottawa 67’s of the OHL. He has over 16 years of experience coaching and training goalies at the Junior “A”, Major Jr. ”A” and professional levels.  During the hockey season, Tom is a full-time goaltending coach, dedicating his time and expertise to working with the two goalies on his team. As a full-time Major Junior goalie coach for a number of years, Tom has a strong grasp of what it takes to become a consistent performer at a very elite level of play. He brings this knowledge and experience - along with a passion for teaching - to his sessions in order to help his clients realize their maximum potential.

A Track Record of Success:  Robert Esche, Marc-Andre Fleury, Martin Houle, Mike Mole, Keni Gibson, Danny Battochio, Lukas Mensator and Marc Robitaille are among the goalies that Tom has coached for at least one full season at the Junior level. Other elite goalies he has worked with include Fred Brathwaite, Marc Lamothe and Dominik Hasek.
In 2002, Tom was hired by the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the QMJHL to work specifically with Marc-Andre Fleury during Fleury’s draft year. During that season Marc-Andre distinguished himself in the World Junior Championships in Halifax and he was subsequently chosen first overall by Pittsburgh in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft in Nashville. In 2004/2005, Tom worked with Dominik Hasek throughout the NHL lockout.  In 2004/2005, the Ottawa 67’s were semifinalists in the Memorial Cup on the efforts of goalie Danny Battochio who now plays for St.Francis Xavier University. In 2006/2007, sophomore Brittany Wilson performed brilliantly for the University of Connecticut Huskies, winning numerous goaltending awards in NCAA’s Hockey East Association.
